The National Foundation for Mental Health Chooses DataGlyphics as Web Partner
- DataGlyphics to develop initial Web site for D.C.-based mental health advocacy organization -
WASHINGTON, DC - The National Foundation for Mental Health, a Washington based nonprofit organization, today announced that it signed a contract with DataGlyphics Inc., a Florida-based software development firm, for development and design of the organization's initial Web site. NFMH was founded in 2003 to educate the public and members of Congress about the importance of funding biomedical research on mental and behavioral disorders. The foundation works to increase awareness of the behavioral research conducted by the federal government at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland.
According to NFMH President Dr. Thomas Bryant, "In the past two decades, there has been an unprecedented increase in effective treatments for mental illnesses due to research advances led by the National Institute of Mental Health. Much work still needs to be done. About 1 in 5 Americans (44 million people) experiences a diagnosable mental disorder in the course of a year. Of that number less than one-third of the adults actually receives treatment in that same year." The foundation features a prominent Founders Committee that consists of two former U.S. Surgeon Generals, distinguished professors and university presidents, medical doctors and chief executive officers.
"We chose DataGlyphics for its reputation of unparalleled service and award-winning design capabilities," said Dr. Bryant, "Our Web site will be an important element in promoting the foundation's mission, and we look to DataGlyphics to provide the insight and direction needed to help us achieve our online goals."
The new site will help the NFMH enhance communication with the public by providing information about the organization including how to join, a list of partners/donors, news and events, and more.
"While the foundation is tackling some very important health issues, DataGlyphics will work to ensure that their online solution effectively supports their efforts," said William H. Stover Jr., CEO of DataGlyphics. "We are honored that this esteemed national organization selected us as their Web partner, and we look forward to establishing a quality long-term relationship with the foundation."
